I'd go carefully on that one. Any time you deviate from the OEM exhaust system, you will also have to rejet the carburetor when back pressure differs significantly. The Savage motor is already tuned lean to meet USA EPA pollution emission guidelines. If you use a less restrictive muffler, that lean condition increases unless adjustments are made to the carburetor. Also, the old axiom is true, "You get what you paid for."
